Job Title: Informatica Developer

Job Description:

As a Senior Informatica Developer, the successful candidate will play a key role in managing and overseeing the full lifecycle of ETL processes and database systems. This position requires close collaboration with business, development, and testing teams to ensure accurate data reporting aligned with company standards while maintaining 24/7 system availability. Responsibilities include investigating and resolving issues, identifying opportunities for process improvement, and offering expert technical guidance to junior developers.

Responsibilities for an Informatica Developer:

• Led advanced ETL development activities using Informatica, PL/SQL, and Oracle databases, including tasks such as SQL tuning and server administration for Informatica.
• Develop ETL processes and enhance workflows using Informatica PowerCenter to integrate data from various sources into an Oracle-based data warehouse.
• Planned, executed, and managed ETL unit testing and overall development testing to ensure the integrity and performance of data processes.
• Design, build, test, and maintain ETL components to support multiple applications within the organization.
• Provide post-production application support, addressing any issues or optimizations as needed.
• Conduct thorough data analysis to support the design of new projects and troubleshoot issues with existing subject areas.
• Work both independently and collaboratively to deliver ETL projects for data warehousing solutions.
• Adhere to established standards and best practices, while also contributing suggestions for process improvements.
• Maintain a robust, multi-terabyte 24/7 data warehouse system to ensure consistent availability and high performance.
• Utilizes industry-standard tools for data modeling, data flow analysis, and documentation to thoroughly analyze, document, and present data insights.
• Collaborates effectively with team members to identify and resolve data and process-related issues.
• Engages with non-technical subject matter experts to help them understand data behaviors and characteristics in ways that may be unfamiliar to them.
• Responsible for creating and managing ETL configuration artifacts, such as code, environment setup, configuration files, and documentation, as part of client program delivery.
   

Desired Experience:

• A minimum of 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience in ETL development.
• Familiarity with business intelligence tools such as Business Objects is an added benefit.
• Practical experience working with UNIX and LINUX scripting, as well as scheduling tools.
• Previous experience in Asset Management is a plus.
• Proficiency in Unix Shell Scripting is required.
• SAP HANA experience is highly preferred.
   

Education Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, along with six years of relevant programming experience and/or training.
• A strong understanding of general business and management practices is advantageous.
• A minimum of six years of software development experience, specifically with Informatica and Oracle databases in a distribution system environment, is highly desirable.
• Comprehensive knowledge of all phases of the software development lifecycle.
• Expertise in application design principles, systems analysis, and development.
• Proficiency in UNIX/LINUX environments and Oracle 12c.
• Thorough understanding of relational database design and architecture.
• Solid knowledge of Business Intelligence (BI) architecture and reporting tools, such as MicroStrategy.
   

Qualifications for Informatica Developer:

• Ability to quickly adapt and gain expertise in WM Teradata-related processes, collaborating with review teams such as TD Engineering, TD DBAs, and Operations.
• Willingness to maintain, enhance, and develop new data transformations as needed.
• Knowledge of version control systems.
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in Data Warehouse ETL processes.
• Recent experience with Informatica PowerCenter version 9 or higher.
• Understanding of Data Architecture and Data Modeling principles.
