Job Summary: 

We are seeking a skilled Hadoop Cloudera Admin to join our dynamic team in Denver, CO. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing our Hadoop ecosystem, ensuring high availability and performance. This role requires a deep understanding of Hadoop architecture, Cloudera distribution, and related technologies.

Job Description

Experience: 6+ years in information technology, including 3-5 years managing and administering Hadoop/Cloudera environments.

Skills and Tools: Proficiency with Cloudera CDP (Cloudera Data Platform), Cloudera Manager, and related tools; experience with Hadoop ecosystem components such as HDFS, YARN, Hive, HBase, Spark, and Impala.

System Administration: Strong background in Linux system administration, with experience in scripting languages (Python, Bash) and configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet).

Additional Tools: Familiarity with tools like Kerberos, Ranger, Sentry, Docker, Kubernetes, and Jenkins.

Certification: Cloudera Certified Administrator for Apache Hadoop (CCAH) or a similar certification.

Responsibilities: Cluster management, performance optimization, implementation of best practices, collaboration, and support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain Hadoop clusters using Cloudera distribution.
• Monitor cluster performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation.
• Manage and support Hadoop ecosystem components such as HDFS, YARN, Hive, HBase, and Spark.
• Implement and manage security policies, including Kerberos authentication and data encryption.
• Perform regular system upgrades, patches, and maintenance to ensure system reliability and security.
• Collaborate with data engineers and developers to optimize data processing workflows.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts for cluster management and monitoring.
• Ensure data integrity and availability through backup and recovery processes.
   

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Hadoop administration, preferably with Cloudera distribution.
• Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Shell, or Perl.
• Experience with monitoring tools like Nagios, Ganglia, or Cloudera Manager.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
   

Preferred Qualifications:

• Cloudera Certified Administrator for Apache Hadoop (CCAH) certification.
• Experience with data warehousing and ETL processes.
• Knowledge of big data technologies such as Kafka, Flume, or Sqoop.
   

Preferred certifications:

Cloudera Certified Administrator for Apache Hadoop (CCAH): This certification demonstrates your ability to configure, deploy, maintain, and secure an Apache Hadoop cluster.

Cloudera Certified Associate (CCA) Administrator: The CCA Administrator certification validates your skills in core systems and cluster administration, including installation, configuration, and management of Cloudera clusters
